About Me

I grew up loving making art. This took many forms–visual, choral, and theatrical. Visual art won, sending me to college to get a Bachelors of Fine Art in Fiber. After college I landed in live theater, working backstage and in costume shops for over a decade. Eventually my desire to go back to making visual art combined with my desire to work for myself, and Nicole Dawn Studio was born! I’ve discovered that I enjoy finding unexpected details in everyday items and want to share that joy with others. 

My Process

My designs are all hand drawn or painted either on paper or digitally on a tablet. I then meticulously modify, repeat, and recolor them as needed until my perfection is satisfied. (This takes FOREVER.) My designs then get sent off to the printer. I get my fabrics back and then it’s time to sew sew sew!

My Vision

I want to help people surround themselves with unique, high quality, detailed art that brings them joy! I’m starting out small with tea towels, but hope to expand into other rectangles (e.g., bandanas, napkins, and tablecloths), and then eventually into clothing. I would love to see my artwork in people’s homes all over the world, getting used in their day-to-day life.
